Clarksburg, Ohio
March 5 1922Dear Cousins;
We were very much surprised to get the pictures, but very glad to be remembered both of you in the picture look well. Pa said he did not see anything that looked like Sam Maddux. He sure glad to get them and many, many thanks to you. I am goint to Chillicothe now soon and will take the pictures to Uncle Milt and tell him to writ you. I am sure if you would come back to Clarksburg you will find some people here you know. Old Dr. Morgan and wife.

Pa is real well, he will be 79 the first day of May. Mada lives at New Holland. They were here last Sunday. Grace lives at Springfield, O. has one child, a girl (Isabel). Chloe lives at South Salem. She teaches there, she has one child, a boy (Aaron Day). Mada has four children, one girl (Nell) and three boys Robert, Samuel, Earl, and Marvin Day. Ollie lives at Frankfort.
He would be glad to have you folks to come same time to see us and believe you would enjoy coming back to your old home. The other people, and the changes that have been made. Frank Junk lives (page cut off)

Oscar and wife, Aunt Jennie Maddux, Mrs. Martha Monbray and several others are still here. The town has made som improvement since you left. Two new churches have been built; Bank, Town Hall, several businesses, houses, three new school houses, have the lumber to build a community house. Will start work now in a short time. O. M. Houser still lives where you did. My property is down on the corner of the same street. The new M. E. Church is just across the street from me. Will Brown and I own the old Hern lot. Ira Stephen, wife and daughter (Rinda Adams) lived over on the other corner. We have electric lights, and concrete walks and I think Clarksburg is not such a bad place after all. The trouble there is not enough houses in town to accomodate the people.
(---might be a missing page here---may have been something embarrasing--)
lived. I never pass there unless I think of the good times, and the apples that growed in that old orchard. Most of the trees are dead, but the long porch is still there.
Frank Junk is one of Albert Junk sons.
I have showed the pictures to several. I am going to thak them down for Mrs. Monbray to see.
Many thanks again for the pictures.
Love and best wishes to all.
Julia S Rickards,
Clarksburg O.
