The accompanying picture [unavailable] shows Mr. and Mrs. Albert Watson of West Eighth Street, as they appeared on the occasion when they celebrated their fifty-first wedding anniversary.

Mr. Watson was for a number of years a faithful employee of this company and at the present time in one of several old employees being carried on the retired list, having served the company for a period of twenty years, from May 15, 1904 until April 7, 1924, in the capacity of oiler, keeper of the oil room and night watchman.

Mr. Watson was born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 20, 1853, and at the time of the celebration of his fifty-first wedding anniversary was past 73 years of age. Mrs. Watson, his wife, was 74 on March 4th.

On the day during which the accompanying picture was taken, Mr. and Mrs. Watson were fortunate in having all of their children together for the second time in the fifty-one years of their married career.

The aged couple are the parents of six children, four of whom are still living, in the persons of Mrs. Howard Barrows, Mrs. Charles McFerrin, Mrs. Morris McKinney and Mrs. Wesley Recobs, the latter being from Akron, Ohio. Mrs. Barrows and Mrs.McFerrin are the wives of Mead employees.

Mr. and Mrs. Watson are both in excellent health at the present time, despite their long and happy married life, and evidence every promise of spending many more happy days together. It is not many married couples that can boast of such a record as that held by Mr. and Mrs. Watson.

The two have known each other during practically the entire period of their lives, having attended school together in the primary grades while both lived in Columbus.

As the photograph shows, one of the features of the anniversary dinner served on October 31st, was a large bridal cake, made by the Haaser Baking Co. of Akron, Ohio.

Mr. and Mrs. Watson have the best wishes of all Mead employees for many more years of happy and contented married life, and we take this opportunity of congratulating them upon their success in having weathered the past fifty-one years of wedded life.
