Wed 63 Years Nov. 15

Mr. and Mrs. John Gain of Waverly, Route 3, will have been married 63 years Saturday, Nov. 15. They repeated their vows in Maryland in 1895 and have lived at Waverly for the last 28 years. Mrs. Gain, the former Byrda Cottrill, was born Aug. 15, 1877, and Mr. Gain was born Sept. 15, 1862, both at Clarksburg, W. Va. A year ago Mr. Gain retired as a farmer but continues to raise a garden.

The couple has five daughters, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Their daughters include: Mrs. Jessica Leeson, Galveston, Tex.; Mrs. Rufus (Virginia) Putnam, Londonderry, Route 1; Mrs. Clarence (Marguerite) Detty, South Walnut Street; and Mrs. David (Victoria) May and Mrs. Irene Leesom, 100 N. Mulberry St. Mr. and Mrs. Gain also had six other children who are deceased.
