Know all Men by these Presents, That we, Susan Maddux and Robert Sturgeon all of Ross County, and State of Ohio, are held and firmly bound unto the State of Ohio, in the penal sume of twenty five hundred dollars, current money, to the payment which well and truly to be made to the State of Ohio, WE bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.

Sealed with our seals, and dated this 2nd of October 1852

WHEREAS, Samuel Maddux aged fourteen years on the twenty seventh day of April AD 1852 this day with the consent of the Probate Court for the County of Ross and State of Ohio made choice of Susan Maddux, as his guardian - the said Samuel Maddux being a minor and legal representative of John Maddux deceased.

NOW THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That if the above bound Susan Maddux Guardian, as aforesaid, will render an accurate statement of his transactions, with a just account of the profits arising from the estate of said minor and deliver up the same to the Court, at such time as they may require , and discharge with fidelity the trust reposed in her then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
