Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Watters (Martha Neal) will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary at a family dinner at their home in Denver. The couple was married on Dec. 24, 1897, and has resided in Ross county since their marriage. Mr. Watters is a retired mail carrier and farmer.

Mr. and Mrs. Watters have four daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. D. A. Brown (Lexie) Waverly, Rt. 2; Mrs. R. M. Teweksbury (Jettie) and Mrs. Foster Lee (Ura) both of Waverly, Route 3; Mrs. Edgar Hinkel (Beryl), Columbus; Mr. Ernest Watters, Chillicothe, Route 4, and Mr. Douglas Watters, Waverly Route 3.

Couple to celebrate 65 years of marriage

Christmas Day [1962] will mark the 65th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Watters of Waverly, Route 3. They were married in Ross County in 1897.

Mrs. Watters, the former Martha Neal, was born in Lawrence County, Ky., and Mr. Watters is a native of Ross County. He was a mail carrier in Denver (Ohio) before his retirement.

Their five generation family includes four daughters, Mrs Robbin (Jettie) Tewksbury and Mrs. Foster (Ura) Lee, both of Waverly, Route 3, Mrs. David (Lexie) Brown of Waverly, Route 2, Mrs Edgar (Beryl) Hinkell of Columbus; and two sons.. Mr. Ernest Watters of Route 5, and Mr. Douglas Watters of Waverly, Route 3. They also have 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and six great-great-granchildren.
