Mrs. Everhart

Mrs. Floyd Everhart (Mary Strickrott), 82, of West Liberty, O., died Friday in Bellefontaine hospital.

Service will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hostetter funeral home, West Liberty, with burial there.

Mrs. Everhart was born near Fruitdale June 28, 1881, the daughter of Gustave and Ann Strickrott.

She is survived by her husband, a brother, Charles Strickrott, 656 Dickey Ave; four daughters and a son, Ruth Myhre, of California, Marjorie Alberts, of West Liberty, Katherine Ross, of Urbana, and Alice Rogers and Charles Everhart, of Springfield; and 20 grandchildren.
 


Mrs. John Hester

Mrs. John Hester, Caroline F. Strickrott of South Salem, daughter of Gustave and Anna Strickrott, was born July 31, 1874 near Mt. Tabor, Ross County. She departed this life October 15, 1931, aged 57 years, 2 months and 14 days. She was married to John Hester April 12, 1905, to this union was born four sons Charles, David, Ralph, and Howard who with her husband, all survive her.

In her young girlhood, she was converted and united with the M.E. church at Fruitdale later transferring her membership to South Salem.

Although during late years ill health made church attendance impossible, through all the cares and sorrows of life she clung to her faith in her Savior and in her last hours gave witness of her hope of Heaven.

Her greatest interest was in her home and family and as long as her health permitted she gave them her loving, willing service.

For the last several months, her suffering was intense but she bore her affliction with great patience.

In her last hours she expressed her love and gratitude to the neighbors and friends who tried to minister to her.

Besides her husband and sons, she leave three brothers, John, Charles, and Fred and two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Everhart and Mrs. Cyrus Gray and many other relatives to mourn their loss.

Anna Catharina (Ruppel) Strickrott

Anna Catharina Ruppel, daughter of Conrad and Anna C. Ruppel, was born December 13, 1842 in Germany.

She with her parents and two brothers, came to Greenfield, Ohio, 1858. Shortly after the German M.E. Church was organized with five members, her father, mother, oldest brother and C.M. Newbeck and wife, she joining two years later. March 25th, 1865, she was united in marriage to F.W. Gustav Strickrott. After the dissolution of the German M.E. Church, she and her husband joined the M.E. Church at Fruitdale of which she remained a very active member to the end. She had her share of hardship to bear, nursing her disabled husband back to life again and again when there seemed no hope. Now when her husband had provided many comforts for their last years, she was not permitted to enjoy them. She had received internal injuries through falls some years ago, which caused her constant pain. December 15, she took suddenly very sick, developing pneumonia. She died December 21, 1911, in triumph of a living faith; her father, mother, two brothers and one grandchild have gone on before. She leaves a husband, three sons, three daughters and ten grandchildren to mourn the loss of a loving mother. Internment in the new cemetery. The funeral was in charge of her pastor, Rev. Oswald. Her age was 69 years and 8 days.

We desire to express our sincere thanks to the many neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the sickness and death of our dear wife and mother, to Mr. Murray for the way he conducted the funeral, Rev. Oswald for his consoling words and to the choir for the songs rendered, we are very grateful.

Fred Strickrott

Fred Strickrott, 85, died Tuesday afternoon in his home in West Liberty, O., following a long illness. Service will be held there Friday at 2 p.m. and burial will be made in West Liberty.

A native of Ross County, he was born Nov. 22, 1870, a son of Gustave and Anna Ruppel Strickrott.

He leaves his wife, Emma Everhart Strickrott; a son, Herbert, of Urbanna; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Newman and Mrs. Edyth Forghty, of West Liberty; a sister, Mrs. Mary Everhart, West Liberty, and a brother, Charles, 656 Dickey Ave.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

F.W. Gustave Strickrott

F.W. Gustave Strickrott was born in Germany August 9th, 1840; came to this country May 22nd 1960; April 19, 1861, he responded to the call of his adopted country. He was discharged July 25th, 1865. He was united in marriage to Anna C. Ruppel March 25th, 1866. He united with the Methodist church in the year 1865, served as recording steward, class leader, trustee and Sunday school superintendent.

Six children were the result of this marriage, three sons and three daughters, all members of the Methodist church. He remained a faithful member until his infirmities compelled him to remain at home. He departed this life July 22nd, 1915, aged 74 years, 11 months, and 13 days.

He leaves to mourn his death, one brother, one sister, six children and 14 grandchildren and a host of other relatives, his wife having preceded him December 21st, 1911.
