This indenture, made this eighth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one between Enos Moor, Elizabeth his wife, of the County of Ross State of Ohio, of the one part and James A. Loney of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Enos Moor and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of forty dollars current money to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted bargained, sold and conveyed, and by these presents do grant, bargain sell and convey unto the said James A. Loney his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, lying and being in the County of Ross and State of Ohio,

beginning at a small white oak and black oak in the westerly line of survey No. 4011 thence N75 E33 to a stake near a dogwood, thence N15 W48 to a white oak, thence S75 W33 to a small black oak in the original line, thence with said line S15 E48 to the beginning, containing ten acres. Together with all improvements and appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises in any wise belonging and all the estate, title or claim of the said Enos Moor and wife of in and to the same,

To Have and To Hold, the lands hereby conveyed with _____ of the appurtenances unto the said James A. Loney his heirs and heirs and assigns forever, and the said Enos Moor and wife for their heirs, ancestors and administrators, do hereby covenant with the said James A. Loney his heirs and assigns, that the aforesaid premises are and forever shall remain free from all former and other encumbrances, and liens whatsoever, done or suffered to be done by the said Enos Moor and wife and the said Enos Moor and his heirs and all singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said James A. Loney his heirs and assigns against the said Enos Moor and his wife and their heirs, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In testimony whereof, the said Enos Moor and wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

Personally came before the subscriber, one of the Justices of the peace, in and for the County aforesaid, the above named Enos Moor and Elizabeth his wife and acknowledged the above signing and sealing to be their free and voluntary act and deed for the purposes above expressed. And the said Elizabeth Moor wife of the said Enos Moor being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband; and the contents of the above deed having been made known to her, she did declare that she voluntarily, and of her own free will and accord, and without fear of caution of her said husband did and now doth acknowledge the signing and sealing thereof.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Big Bottom this eighth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one.

This Indenture, made and entered into this fourteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty six, Between John Devorss Senior, Daniel Devorss, William Devorss and Ann Ford, heirs of Daniel Devorss, late of Buchanan County in the State of Missouri deceased, of the one part, and John Freshaur of Ross County in the State of Ohio, of the other part;

Witnesseth, that the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have given, granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do give grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey and confirm unto said John Freshaur, party of the second partt, and to his heirs and assigns forever, all those certain tracts, pieces or parcels of land situatelying [?] and being in the County of Ross in the State of Ohio, to wit,

one tract of land containing one hundred and four acres and one half of an acre, situate on the waters of Paint Creek, beginning at three sugar trees lower back corner to George Baylor's survey No. 527, running thence South twenty five degrees, East sixty poles to a beach, thence North sixty five degrees East thirty nine poles to a beach, thence North five degrees East Eighty two poles to a lynn, thence North thirty degrees West one hundred and thirteen poles to a sugar tree thence twenty seven degrees East forty poles to an Iron wood and dogwood thence North twenty seven degrees West fifty two poles to a beach, thence North seven degrees East fifty poles to a stake; thence North thirty nine degrees West one hundred and five poles to a lynn and two ashes, thence South Eight degrees East three hundred and sixty poles to the Beginning, also one other tract of land, containing twenty nine and one half acres more or less, bounded and described as follows, to wit, Beginning at a white oak in John (R ? 's) line, thence South Sixty two degrees East forty six poles, to three sugar trees corner to George Baylor's Survey No. 527, thence North five degrees East one hundred and forthy two poles to four paupaus, thence South Eighty degrees West forty poles to three sassafrasses, thence South Six degrees West one hundred and fifteen poles to the beginning, being part of a survey No. 2483 made in the name of Temple Elliott's heirs on Paint Creek for six hundred sisty six and two thirds of an acre, which tract of lan was patented to Robert Pollard on the fifteenth day of January in the year one thousand eight hundred and one and conveyed by deed duly acknowledged and recorded to the aforesaid George by the said Robert Pollard and Joel, his wife, and George Pickect on the thirty first day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven, containing in all one hundred and thirty four acres by the same more or less.

Together with all and singular the hereditaments and improvements to the said tracts of land belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the same unto the said John Freshaur, his heirs and assigns forever, and the said parties of the first part, do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part, that they are lawfully seized in fee of the aforesaid granted premises, that they are free from all incumberances, that they have good right to sell and convey the same, to the said party of the second part, and that they will and their heirs, Executors and administrators shall Warrant and forever Defend the title of said premised to the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, against all lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof, the said paarties of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first herein before written.

D. 1846, before me, William Fowler, Clerk of the County Court, within and for said County, personally appeared John Devorss and William Devorss who are personally known to me, to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing deed as parties thereto, and severally acknowledged the same to be their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned, and on the day and year aforesaid personally appeared, John Devorss Senior, who is personally known to me, to be the person who subscribed the name of Ann Ford to the foregoing deed as party thereto by authority of a power of attorney duly executed by said Ann Ford, bearing date the Eighteenth day of August 1846, and acknowledged that he executed and delivered the same as the act and deed of the said Ann Ford by the authority of the said power of Attorney for the purposes therein mentioned, and on the same day and year last aforesaid John Devorss and William Devorss, personally appeared before me and are personally know to me, and say that they were authorized by Power of Attorney duly executed by Daniel Devorss, which said Power of Attorney is duly recorded in the Recorder's office of Ross County in the State of Ohio, and is dated on the 30th day of March in the year A.D.. 1846, to dispose of his, the said Daniel Devorss's interest in the foregoing Deed, and the said John Devorss is known to me, to be the person who subscribed the name of the said Daniel Devorss to the foregoing deed as aforesaid or party thereto, and the said John Devorss and William Devorss acknowledged, that they executed the same as the act and deed of the said Daniel Devorss for the purposes therein mentioned by virtue of the authority aforesaid.

This Indenture, made this seventeenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven between Jonathan Aldridge and Esther Aldridge party of the first party and David Condon party of the second part; Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part, for and in Consideration of the sum of Five dollars lawful money of the United States, to them the said party of the first part in hand will and truly paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, released, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, forever, all their interest in a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Ross and State of Ohio, being the same as deeded to James Long [sic: Loney] by Enos Moor and Elizabeth Moor. Containing Ten acres, the deed being executed therefor on the 8th day of July 1831. And all the estate, right, title, interest, claim and demand of them the said party of the first part, of in and to the said premises, and every part thereof; Together with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging, or in any wise appertaining and the rents, issues and profits thereof. To Have and To Hold the premises hereby bargained and sold, or meant or intended so to be with the appurtenances, to the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, forever, And the said party of the first part, for their heirs, executors and administrators, doth promise, covenant and agree, to and with the said party of the second part, his heirs, Executors, administrators and assigns, that they the true and lawful owners of the said premises hereby granted and have good right, full power and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner and form aforesaid; And further, that they the said party of the first part their heirs, executors and administrators, will Warrant and forever defend the aforesaid premises with their appurtenances, and every part and parcel thereof, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, against all persons claiming or to claim, by, from or under them the said party of the first part, or any of them; or by, from or under any other person or persons whomsoever.

Jones his heirs and assigns forever all my right title and interest in and to the following described real-estate situate in the County of Ross Township of Franklin State of Ohio bounded as follows:

 

Beginning at a small white oak and black oak in the Westerly line of Survey No. 4011; thence 15 E. 33 poles to a stake near a dogwood; thence N 15 W 48½ poles to a white oak; thence S. 75 W. 33 poles to a small black oak in the original line; thence S. 15 E 48½ poles to the place of beginning containing 10 acres more or less being the same premises Jonathan Aldridge obtained from William McNeil by deed bearing date October 11th 1873 and all the Estate Title and Interest of the said John Aldridge either in Law or in Equity of in and to the said premises;

Together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging and all the rents issues and profits hereof; to have and to hold the same to the only proper use of the said Eugene R. Jones his heirs and assigns forever.

Known All Men by these Presents:

That we Silas Cydrus and Mary Cydrus his wife, Henry Manbevers and E. M. Ida Manbevers his wife all of Ross County Ohio in consideration of One Hundred Dollars to us paid by E. R. Jones of Pike County Ohio the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby Remise Release and Forever Quit Claim to the said E. R. Jones his heirs and assigns forever the following real estate situate in the County of Ross in the State of Ohio and in the Township of Franklin and bounded and described as follows to wit:

Beginning at a small white oak and black oak in the Westerly line of Survey No. 4011; thence N 15¡ E 33 poles to a stake near a dogwood; thence N 15¡ W 48½ poles to a white oak; thence S 75¡ W. 33 poles to a small black oak in the original line; thence with said line S 15¡ E 48½ poles to the place of beginning containing ten (10) acres more or less being the same premises conveyed to Johnathan Aldridge by William F. McNeil and wife by deed dated October 11th 1873 and recorded in Ross County Deed Records Volume 78 page 354 and all the Estate Title and Interest of the said Silas Cydrus and Mary Cydrus his wife and Henry Manbevers and E. M. Ida Manbevers his wife either in Law or in Equity of in and to the said premises;

Together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging and all the rents issues and profits thereof; to have and to hold the same to the only proper use of the said E. R. Jones his heirs and assigns forever.

In Witness Whereof The said Silas Cydrus Henry Manbevers who release their right and expectancy of Dower in the said premises have hereunto set their hands this 3rd day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety two.
